West Wight Churches Youth Project bring young people together and connect them with others their own age.

West Wight Churches Youth Project has been running for 10 years. As a partnership between Churches Together West Wight and Isle of Wight Youth for Christ, they are passionate about seeing young people’s lives changed by Jesus. They have a team of amazing volunteers from local churches, led by Part-Time Youth Worker – Faye Smith, and managed by a Management Team.

The funding from the parish Council will help go towards Youth Group trips to JR Zone, Skates, Bowling, Headhunters, Resound Youth Event in Dorset and Dreaming the Impossible Festival. It will also help with refreshments and updating equipment such as Xbox controllers, board games and table tennis bats.

Freshwater Parish Council Chair Cllr Emma Cox and Chair of Finance Cllr Natalie Thomas were invited to come along to a drop in evening and see what happens at the Youth Club.

Natalie said ‘As a local Freshwater mum it is amazing that we have such a wonderful youth provision available in the west wight. My daughter is really enjoying the time and space to connect with her friends out of school.’
