Trant Engineering donate towards Skatepark and Pump Track - Freshwater Parish Council Isle of Wight

Freshwater Parish Council is delighted to express its heartfelt thanks to Trant Engineering Ltd for their generous donation in support of the proposed Freshwater Skatepark and Pump Track.

This vital contribution represents a meaningful step forward in bringing the long-anticipated facility to life, offering a dynamic, inclusive space for people of all ages to enjoy outdoor activity, community engagement, and physical wellbeing.

We do a lot of work on the Island and see this as a great opportunity to give back to the local community and support an asset for the young people to enjoy for many years to come. Skateboarding facilities offer a great source of physical activity, and the skills, friendships and confidence young people gain from their skatepark experiences will be valuable throughout their lives.”

Paul Blackley, Freshwater Parish Council Finance Officer & Skatepark Project Lead said “It was absolutely lovely to chat to families and their children at Stroud Recreation Ground during the cheque presentation from Trant Engineering for the new skatepark & pump track. The excitement and enthusiasm from everyone was truly heartwarming, the kids especially can’t wait to see it built. A huge thank you to Toby and Trant Engineering for their generous support in helping bring this fantastic community project to life.”

The new skatepark and pump track—set to be located on the Stroud playing field—has been designed with input from local residents, young people, and enthusiasts to ensure it meets the community’s aspirations. Once completed, it will provide a safe, purpose-built environment for skating, BMX biking, scootering, and more, helping to promote healthy lifestyles and positive recreational opportunities for Freshwater and the wider West Wight area.

With the support of organisations like Trant, we are well on our way to turning this exciting project into a reality.”

The Freshwater Skatepark and Pump Track project is part of a broader initiative to enhance outdoor amenities and invest in youth facilities within the parish. Continued fundraising efforts are underway, and the Parish Council welcomes further support from individuals, businesses, and community partners.
