West Wight Football Club announce Testimonial for local football legend Adam Millar.
So it would seem that the countless “one more year” from Mr WW himself Adam Ian Windy Millar has indeed become a reality!
This season, after 146 years playing, and over 750 appearances for West Wight FC. In recognition of the many years of service, West Wight Football Club are more than proud to announce a testimonial in his honour 🫡
Tomorrow at 3pm, Saturday May 11th, Camp Rd will see some of the greatest talent ever to grace the fields of the IOW, lace up their boots and appear alongside Adam in what I am sure will be a testimonial that will go down in History.
Already St John’s Ambulance have started recruiting extra staff and defibrillators from far and wide are being shipped to Freshwater to ensure many of these old boys make it through the 90 minutes……or at the very least the pre-match warm up 😬
A donation will be asked for on the gate and ALL proceeds will go towards the incredible and amazing Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
In the “home” dugout will be a manager that epitomises West Wight. Mr Robbie Dye has dusted off his tactician’s handbook and will lead out his team “Robbie Dyes Ringers” in the famous Blue and White kit
The “away” side is going to be under the charge of an absolute stalwart of island football. A guy that was asked to play one Hants Cup game and stayed for over four years! Steve Lawton will be leading out ‘Lawts Legends’, and man there are some legends of the game in his squad!
Full team details will be announced in the next couple days once we have written approval from the various Care Homes they reside in
KO 3pm at Camp Rd. Gates will open at 2pm where fans will get a chance to mingle with the plethora of stars that will be making an appearance. Please bring cash for the raffle and for donations to Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
Please also be aware that parking at Camp Rd is limited and any electric charging points will be reserved for the many defibrillators on standby
